My process of creating hand-crafted throws is Art As Meditation, and working with these soothing colors was an experience in calm.
The fabrics for this folk art quilt are custom-printed and combined in a way that reminds me of summertime and relaxation, perhaps a visit to the beach, perhaps a picnic on the back porch. These images for me surely must include watermelon!
The simplicity of the design reinforces my sense of enjoying the simple pleasures of a warm day. The umbrella and deck chairs in the bottom right look inviting and a button sun completes the scene! Prairie points outlining the quilt add a note of nostalgia and old-fashioned charm.
My quilts are made to be used, to be wrapped up in, so the backing is cozy flannel in case the summer evening becomes cool.

Dancing Spirit Quilts, tops, backing, and batting, and are 100% cotton. Wash in warm water with a gentle detergent; they are dryer safe. Note: Quilts that are finished with or include a ragged edge may continue to "lint-out' during the next one or two washings, but will stabilize after that.
