This folk art quilt features hand-embroidered linens circa 1950s. The black and white check fabric offers a bit of whimsy to these old-fashioned prints of teacups and teapots. I left the bottom edging of the linen; it had been so carefully embroidered. The center medallion is done in a variation of trapunto work, and sports ribbons that are held in place by a gold button which is the hand-less face of a clock: anytime is tea time!

These linens have been in the family for so many years, carefully stored; I feel it is time to renew their usefulness and appreciate their beauty. Handwork transfers the love from the artist to the cloth, and can be felt. This is one of the reasons, I continue to hand-quilt my work.
